Avocado Hair Masque:
If you’ve been putting your curls through the wringer with color, chemical treatments or heat tools, it’s time to replenish. Avocados are loaded with healthy natural oils and fats that will help restore damaged curls.
How to:
Remove the pit from a fresh avocado and mash. Add one eggs and blend. Apply to freshly washed or wet curls, making sure to work through all your strands. Allow to sit for 25-30 minutes, and then rinse. You can use this treatment weekly for severely damaged curls.
Banana Curl Rescue:
Bananas aren’t just great for a post-work out snack. It turns out they’re also super healthy for your curls. Bananas are loaded with potassium, vitamins and minerals that can help restore luster to damaged curls.
How to:
Blend 1-2 overripe bananas until smooth. Add in 1 teaspoon each of an oil of your choice (avocado, coconut or olive) and honey. Coat curls thoroughly and allow to sit for a minimum of 1 hour. Rinse with lukewarm water.
Hot Coconut Treatment:
If you’ve been rough on your hair, coconut oil is going to be your savior. The oil works to condition distressed scalps, helps add moisture to fried curls and adds strength to weakened curl follicles.
How to:
Wash your curls and add melted (but slightly cooled) coconut oil all throughout. Rub the coconut oil carefully into your scalp and throughout your curls. Cover your hair and allow it to absorb into your scalp and curls. Rinse out after an hour or so.
