Your Daily Curl Care Routine
Starting on Sunday will start your week off right, and then allow you to adjust your routine throughout the week as necessary.
Sunday:
Cleanse. This can be shampooing or cowashing. Every fourth to sixth week, you’ll also need to clarify. Follow up with your favorite conditioner and deep conditioning treatment to restore moisture lost during the cleansing process. After cleansing, set your curls in the style you’d like to wear throughout the week. Doing this on Sunday ensures you won’t be rushed and therefore you’ll see better results that last longer.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday:
Fortunately, the next few days are fairly simple, and won’t require much time. Refresh your curls after sleeping on your strands for the night. Mist your strands with water or a curl refreshing spray. You can also use a leave in conditioner to rehydrate if needed. Mist again at night before bed.
In the morning, you may also need to apply dry shampoo if your scalp and strands are beginning to get greasy. A good dry shampoo will mop up oil and give you more texture, as well as lift. As a result, curls will be easier to style and have more volume.
Thursday:
If needed, you can cowash your curls on Thursday. This will refresh your strands, and allow your curls to be rehydrated as necessary. Style your curls to get you through until your next full wash day.
Friday and Saturday:
Sunday will be here before you know it. Therefore, you only have a couple more days to get through. On these days, your curls will need some moisturizing to refresh your strands.
Bi monthly:
Twice a month, consider adding in a hot oil treatment, protein treatment as needed, or a hair mask to soothe dry, distressed strands. Your curls will thank you for it.
