It’s no secret your curls usually look best on wash day. However, before you know it second day curls are here. While second day curls are inevitable, you can still make your curls awesome. This is the key to making second day curls shine. Give these suggestions a try, and let us know how they work for you.
Making Second Day Curls Shine
Evening:
After you’ve been out in the world with your freshly washed curls, you’re going to want to take care of your hair as soon as you get home. This will help protect it during the evening and throughout the night. Pile your curls on top of your head, and secure with a soft hair tie. You can then wrap your strands in a silk or satin scarf to help hold moisture in, and protect your hair.
Bedtime:
Before hitting the hay, make sure you’re setting your curls up for success. Start this by wetting down your curls, and then applying your favorite curl care products to refresh your strands. Focus on any areas where your curls might have dropped or are looking frizzy. Make sure to apply products directly to those areas to help your hair shine. After you’ve applied your products, pile your curls on top of your head to hold your strands in place. Cover your curls with a satin scarf.
Morning:
As you were sleeping, your curls will be drying in place. In the morning, carefully remove the scarf. Gently shake your curls down, and use your fingers to break up any clumps. Your curls will be held in place, and will be refreshed from the day before! Shake your strands out, adjust any curls that may need it, and enjoy your gorgeous, second-day curls. We’re sure no one will be able to tell.
