Making Second Day Curls Pop
When refreshing your curls on the second or third day, you can use a leave in conditioner or curl refreshing spray. However, if you don’t want to purchase one, you can always maker your own with this super simple DIY recipe. To make this recipe, fill a spray bottle with filtered water, and add 1-2 tablespoons of your favorite conditioner, and shake. That’s it! If you’d like, you can also add in some essential oils to customize your product.
Spritz the refreshing spray throughout your curls, making sure to dampen your strands without completely saturating your strands. Once your curls are damp, take a curl styling product and rub a small amount between your hands.
Flip your curls upside down, and begin scrunching the product into your damp hair. Work with your natural curl pattern, and not against it. Scrunch each curl separately, to help your strands regain and retain their natural shape. Flip your hair back over, and see how your strands look. If your curls look revitalized and have good shape, you’re all set. However, if you notice your strands aren’t holding up as well as you’d like, you can add a gel to help your curls set. Allow the gel to completely dry before breaking the cast.
Finally, flip your curls over one more time, and lift your strands by the roots. Give your scalp a gentle massage to help invigorate your roots, give some lift, and encourage healthy blood flow.
