Tons of curly haired woman have discovered how amazing mayo can be when used in their curly hair, so we’re sharing a recipe to make your own mayo mask.
If you’re looking for a way to add more protein to your hair, mayo isn’t the answer. While it does contain egg, the particles are too large to effectively penetrate the cuticle of curly strands. Mayo contains ingredients that are super healthy for your curls, such as vinegar, lemon juice and soybean oil, all of which will add shine to frizz prone curls. You can choose to use store bought mayo or you can create your own. How to use mayo as a curl care treatment:
Apply: Wash your curls and squeezes out the excess water. Apply the mayonnaise throughout your curls like you would conditioner. Focus the mayo towards your ends, which is the oldest part of your curls and avoid the roots to keep your curls from being weighed down.

Let sit: Use a plastic shower cap, plastic wrap or a plastic bag to cover your mayo-soaked curls. Wrap your hair in a towel to retain the warmth from your scalp, which will help your curls absorb the mayo. Allow it to sit for 15-35 minutes.
Rinse: When you’re ready to rinse out the mayo, use lukewarm water and gentle cleansing shampoo. If the first shampooing doesn’t remove the mayo, cleanse once more.
