As you’re going throughout your life, there are a lot of things that can impact the length of your curls. If your strands are dry, or distressed, this can lead to your curls breaking off. Chemical damage, excessive straightening, and other wear and tear can do a number on your strands. However, there are some things you can do to help curls grow back in. Give these suggestions a read through, and don’t forget to let us know which you’ve tried. If you have any other hints or tips, make sure to drop them in the comments section.
Adjust your diet:
Remember, healthy hair starts from the outside in. If you’re noticing your curl growth might seem a bit sluggish, it might mean your body isn’t getting all the key nutrients it needs. Therefore, you might want to take a good hard look at your diet to see if there’s any changes that you could make. For example, try to focus on incorporating proteins, vitamins, and minerals into your life. Additionally, make sure you’re drinking plenty of water every day, getting some exercise, and getting plenty of sleep. These things might seem small, but can go a long way towards helping achieve your long curls goals.
Massage your scalp:
After your cells receive nutrients from your diet, and oxygen in the blood, then it’s time to help those cell generate growth. You can do this by making sure your scalp is regularly massaged. You can do this with your fingertips, and can incorporate oil with it. Warm the oil, and then massage it directly into your scalp using your finger tips. Take the time to work through all areas of your curls, focusing on all areas of the scalp. This will help remove build up, which can clog pores, as well as encourage blood flow. Allow the oil to sit for an hour or so before rinsing. You can also pull the oil through your strands to leave it in overnight, or as a pre poo treatment before washing.
Stay hydrated:
As mentioned above, staying hydrated is part of the key to success for growing out hair. All aspects of your body need proper hydration to function, which is something you won’t get without incorporating liquids into your diet. Make sure you’re regularly drinking plenty of water, milk, or juice. Try to avoid overusing drinks that may cause dehydration, like alcohol or coffee. Tea is another great choice, and green tea also works great for a curl rinse to help stimulate growth.
