However, did you realize that avocado oil is great for more than cooking? It’s true! Avocado oil is a fantastic choice for curly hair, and here’s why .

Why avocado oil is great for curls

Let’s start with the basics. Avocado oil is absolutely loaded with healthful components that can increase the overall health and well being of your curls. It’s full of Vitamins A, B1, C, D, and E. Seriously, that’s a ton. In addition to these great vitamins, there’s also Vitamin K, fatty acids, magnesium, and zinc. It’s a healthy bundle, and these components can equate to healthy curls for you.

When used on your curls, avocado oil promotes a healthy scalp and keeps your follicles growing, which can help minimize graying. It soothes split ends until you can get to the hair dresser for a good trim, and finally it encourages new hair growth, making it great for those who are trying to grow out their curls.

How to use it:

So now you have a bottle of this powerhouse oil; how do you use it? Really, it’s pretty simple. Take 5 tablespoons of avocado oil, and combine it with 5 tablespoons of virgin olive oil. If you have very fine curls or wavy hair, you can just use the avocado oil and double it, or swap the olive oil for almond oil, which is lighter. After mixing the oils, warm them up but not too hot. Apply the mixture to curls that have been freshly washed, massaging it into your scalp then pulling it through your strands. Then leave it on for 30 minutes before rinsing it out with warm water.
