Curl growth gel:
Not only does it provide great hold, it’s also super healthy for your curls. Mix 1/4 cup of fresh aloe vera gel with 3 tablespoons of flax seed and allow to sit. Store in a sealable jar, and use as a styler to hold your curls.
Overnight curl spray:
Keeping curls safe while sleeping is important for the overall health and wellness of strands. This beneficial spray is super easy. Take 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel, and mix it with 1/2 cup of melted coconut oil, or fractionated coconut oil. We recommend fractionated, as it gives all the same benefits of coconut oil without needing to be melted again. Put in a spray bottle, and apply liberally to your strands before bed. This will hydrate your curls and prevent moisture loss overnight.
Scalp scrub for clean curls:
With time, your scalp can get clogged with build up from products, dandruff, and dead skin cells. It sounds gross, but it’s just a fact of life. In order to promote clean, healthy curls that grow faster, you’ll need to cleanse your scalp occasionally. This scalp scrub might be just the ticket. Take 1/2 cup aloe vera gel, and combine with 1/4 cup coarse sugar, such as brown or cane. Take the mixture in the shower with you, and completely saturate curls with warm water. Apply the scrub directly to the scalp using slow, circular motions and scrubbing with the finger tips. It should take about 10 minutes to scrub your entire scalp. Once your scalp is cleansed, follow with your favorite conditioner. You can also use apple cider vinegar to rinse your curls and restore the pH balance.
