Now that summer is here, it’s time to think about how to keep your curls from puffing up. While there’s nothing wrong with frizz, if you don’t want to deal with it, then you’re in the right place. Frizzy hair is usually caused by damage, or by excessive heat and humidity. This DIY serum for frizzy hair is not only easy to make, it’ll help save you from walking around with a head full of frizz all summer long. Give it a try, and don’t forget to let us know what you think.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup aloe vera, fresh is best but any kind is fine

2 tablespoons fractionated coconut oil

2.5 tablespoons rose water

1 teaspoon Vitamin E oil

12 drops jasmine essential oil

What to do:

Start with a medium sized, clean bowl. Then, add in the aloe vera and the coconut oil. Mix until combined, and then add in the rosewater, followed by the Vitamin E oil, and the essential oil. If jasmine isn’t your scent, you can swap it out for lemon, bergamot, chamomille, or extra rosewater. Mix until completely combined, and then place into a squeeze bottle.

How to use:

Congrats! You’ve just created your very own unique-to-you curl care product. Remember, these ingredients can be adjusted as needed to accommodate your curls. For example, if your strands are extra dry, you can increase the aloe vera or coconut oil. To use, apply to freshly washed and conditioned curls, and then add your favorite curl care products. You can also use it to protect and refresh second or third day curls.
