Are you having issues with your curls? If so, there’s probably a way to treat your curls to coconut oil! When it comes to handling curls, natural treatments are often the best ways to go. As a result, you can use coconut oil in a variety of ways to help deal with various issues that curls encounter. Give these very easy DIY recipes a try, and let us know if you love any of them!

For damage:

When your curls are in need of some TLC to help take care of damage, grab some coconut oil and honey. Start with about 1/4 cup of coconut oil, and then add in 2-4 tablespoons of honey. Warm both until they’re liquid, but not boiling. Apply throughout your strands from the midshaft down. Cover, and allow it to sit for a couple of hours, then wash out with warm water and a gentle cleansing shampoo. Follow up with a deep conditioner.

Dandruff:

No one likes dry, itchy scalp, or those super aggravating white flakes on your shoulders. Dandruff is caused by a fungus, so in order to deal with it, you need to combat the fungus right at the root of the issue. Take 1/4 cup of coconut oil, and melt it. Add in 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and mix. Section your curls, and apply the mixture right to your scalp. Massage it in, and allow it to sit for 30 minutes before washing out with a gentle shampoo. Condition after.

Slow growth:

Nothing is more aggravating then when you want your curls to grow, but they can’t seem to get there. Therefore, you might need to give your curls a little extra boost. Start by adding in 1/4 cup of coconut oil, melted, and aloe vera juice or gel. When it comes to aloe vera, fresh is ideal, but you can use bottled if you can’t get fresh. Mix together, and massage it into your scalp to encourage blood flow. Allow it to sit, and then pull it through the rest of your curls. After letting it sit for an hour, rinse with warm water and then shampoo.
