The best oils for curls: argan oil
Are you the type who likes to style and treat your curls? If so, then perhaps argan oil will be the right choice for you. Argan oil has a ton of amazing benefits, but it’s particularly great for curly girls who have put their hair through the wringer, especially heat treatments. Curly girls with especially brittle hair can really benefit from adding argan oil into their curl care routine.
It has a ton of healthful components, such as protein, carotenoids, sterols, squalene, Omega-3 fatty acids, Omega-9 fatty acids, Vitamin E, and Polyphenols. While that sounds like quite the laundry list, it actually means that argan oil can help restore damaged curls, and keep them healthier longer.
Argan oil is light enough that most curly girls can use it in their daily curl care. To get started, wash your curls with a gentle shampoo, and then apply argan oil throughout your strands, much like you would a conditioner. Then, allow the oil to sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off. If your curls are in need of some extra TLC, you can apply the argan oil, cover your strands, and allow it to sit for some time longer before rinsing it. Curly girls with thick, coarser strands can feel free to apply this treatment from scalp to ends. However, those with fine strands or waves should focus on the mid shaft down.
