Oils to boost curl growth
Pumpkin seed oil:
This oil has a thinner consistency, making it easier to apply and a good choice for those with finer, thinner strands. It has zinc, Omega-6 fatty acids, and Vitamins A, E, and K, all of which help promote a healthy scalp and strong strand growth.
To use, massage the oil directly into your scalp, and then pull through the rest of your strands. Leave on for about two hours, and then wash out with your favorite gently cleansing shampoo.
Tea tree oil:
This is a tried-and-true treatment to help promote growth, particularly because of how beneficial it is to scalps. Not only does it work great as a natural treatment for pests such as lice, it also helps break up the fungus that create itchy scalp issues like dandruff. It invigorates your scalp, encourages blood flow, and keeps follicles free of debris.
To get the most out of this amazing oil, mix a few drops with any of your favorite shampoo. You won’t need a huge amount, and don’t apply it directly to your scalp. Massage your scalp with the pads of your fingers after you apply the shampoo, and rinse then follow with conditioner. Within a few uses, you’ll notice a healthier, more balanced and refreshed scalp, soon to be followed with more hair growth.
Lavender oil:
Many people love the soothing, calming scent of lavender, but it’s great for more than diffusing to soothe the senses. Lavender oil also can sooth a dry, irritated scalp as well. It promotes curl growth by nourishing your scalp and helps increase moisture in dry strands. It also is effective against lice, and dandruff.
To use lavender oil, you can follow a similar process to the tea tree oil. Add a few drops to your favorite shampoo, or to a carrier oil, such as almond, avocado, or coconut oil. Warm the oils, and section your hair, then apply directly to the scalp. Massage in for about ten minutes, and then pull the oil through your strands. Then, cover and allow the product to sit for 30 minutes before rinsing out with shampoo and then conditioning.
