Liquid Leave In:
Mix 2 parts water and 1 part of your favorite curly care conditioner in a spray bottle, then add in a few drops of extra virgin olive oil. Shake to mix. Avoid a conditioner that contains parabens or silicones. Once it’s all mixed, spray throughout damp curls. This product will last you about 1-2 weeks. Make sure to give it a good shake before each use.
Creamy Leave In:
In a microwave safe bowl melt 1/4 cup shea butter and 2 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil, mixing until well blended. Allow to cool until the mixture is partially solidified. Use a mixer to whip the product until it achieves a creamy consistency. Add in a few drops of jojoba or vitamin E oil and mix until completely blended, then add in 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel. Apply to damp curls prior to styling and store excess product in a sealed jar. It should last about a week or longer in the fridge.
Moisturizing Leave In:
If your curls are in need of intense hydration, you can try this moisturizing leave in. To make this product, mix 1.5 parts aloe vera gel or juice to 2 parts coconut water. Shake to mix together. Once the ingredients are incorporated, add in a few drops of extra virgin olive oil, vitamin E or jojoba oil for an extra boost of hydration. If you follow the LOC method, this leave in conditioner can be a great addition to your curl care regiment. Keep this mixture in the fridge for up to a week and shake well before each use.
