Long curls are the stuff of many curly girl’s dreams. Since curls are tightly coiled, it can take longer to see growth results. While you can’t completely change the growth of your hair, you can help it along. Here’s how to make a DIY serum for faster curl growth.
This serum is quite cheap and easy to make at home. Additionally, it seems to help improve the overall health of curls, leading to longer, stronger, and shiny curls.
DIY Serum For Faster Curl Growth
Ingredients:
2 oz jojoba oil
10 drops lavender oil
5 drops tea tree oil
5 drops rosemary essential oil
Container, such as a small spray bottle
What to do:
Choose a smaller bottle that will fit the ingredients, avoiding one that’s too large. Using a funnel for a small necked bottle, pour in all ingredients. Close the bottle up, and shake until all the ingredients are completely mixed together.
If you have naturally oily curls or very fine strands, swap out the oil for distilled water for a lighter mixture.
How to use:
Now that you’ve made your DIY serum, it’s time to use it! Before using, make sure to shake the bottle completely to reincorporate the ingredients. After coming out of the shower, gently section curls. Spray the serum throughout your strands, focusing on the scalp. Apply the serum to the scalp by massaging with your finger tips.
This serum works best when applied at night before bed. Massage for 5-10 minutes until the scalp is completely covered. Cover with a shower cap or use an old pillowcase to avoid staining. Allow the serum to remain in curls overnight to let it work. In the morning, shampoo curls with a gentle cleansing formula. Follow with normal conditioner and style as usual.
