Check out these two super easy and effective DIY curl care hair recipes to make your own products. They are super easy to make with ingredients you can find right in your own kitchen. The best thing is you can make your very own.
Moisturizing rinse:
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 tablespoons pure aloe vera, liquid or gel
- 1/2 cup distilled water
- 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil
What to do:
Take all of the ingredients and mix them into a cup or small bowl. Mix until completely blended. Wash your curls with a gentle cleansing shampoo. Blot excess water from your curls and then pour the mixture over your head. Make sure all the strands are completely saturated. If you have coarse, kinky, dry, or frizzy curls you can substitute olive oil for the almond oil. The heavier oil will help manage frizz.
Conditioning treatment:
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe avocado, pitted and peeled
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
What to do:
In a medium sized bowl, mash up the avocado with a fork and then add in the egg yolk, mayonnaise and oils. Mix until completely blended. Wash your curls and blot the extra water away. Take the mask and massage it into your curls. Cover with a plastic shower cap and cover all of your curls. Allow it to sit for two hours before rinsing. You might need to use a bit of shampoo to help get it all out. Your curls will look healthy, shiny, and well moisturized. If you have extra product, you can store it in the fridge in a sealed mason jar for a couple of days.
