Aloe Vera Curl Care Masks
Aloe vera is an amazing plant! Not only is it fabulous for taking care of your skin, it also works great on curls. It’s smoothing and soothing properties work wonders on dry, distressed, and damaged strands. You can make these aloe vera curl care masks right at home. For growth:
To encourage longer curls to grow more quickly, you can use this mask. Use 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed aloe vera gel, 1 tablespoon of Jamaican Black castor oil, and 1 egg to mix together. Apply throughout freshly washed curls, and massage vigorously into the scalp using your finger tips. Cover, and allow to sit for 30-60 minutes before rinsing out with cool water.
For dandruff:
Having an itchy, flaky scalp can be really irritating, and sometimes embarrassing. Fortunately, aloe vera can help you defeat it. Mix 2-3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel or juice, 1 tablespoon of melted coconut oil, and 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice. The anti-fungal and antibacterial properties in the lemon juice will remove the dandruff, while the aloe vera will soothe any irritation.
Deep conditioning:
Curls often need extra hydration and moisturizing. Therefore, you’ll need to utilize a deep conditioner regularly. As a result, you can create your own right at home! Making your own curl care products is wonderful because you can control exactly what goes into it. To make this deep conditioning treatment, mix 4 tablespoons aloe vera gel, 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt, and 2 tablespoons of raw, organic honey. Apply to freshly washed, damp curls, and cover. Apply heat, and allow to sit for 60 minutes before rinsing out. Make this product fresh every time, and feel free to add any essential oils you want to help treat any ailments your curls might be experiencing.
