With summer coming up fast and hot, it’s time to think about how you plan to rock your curls this season. There are a lot of great ways you can style your curls, but one of the best ways is to rock a scarf. Scarves are having a serious moment in the naturally curly community, and it’s no wonder. They’re easy to use, and there are tons of patterns out there. Here’s how to hack a scarf this summer. Give these suggestions a try, and let us know how you plan to wear a scarf this summer.
How To Hack A Scarf This Summer
Headband:
If you’re looking for the perfect headband this summer, consider that scarf hanging in the back of your closet. You can fold the scarf to create a thick or thin headband. Then, secure it around your head. You can tie a bow, leave the ends loose to hang down over your back, or tuck up the ends. The sky is the limit when it comes to using a scarf as a headband.
Ponytail:
Sometimes, we want something a bit fancier than your usual go-to ponytail. If you have a scarf or a bandanna, you can use it to take that pony to the next level. Pull your curls up into a high pony, tie, and then wrap a scarf around the ponytail. You can let the ends hang down, or create a bow for the front or the back. If you’re feeling like getting extra fancy, you can wrap the ponytail into a bun, and use the scarf to dress it up.
Headwrap:
After a day at the pool, on the boat, or even after a sweaty gym session, there are times when we don’t want to leave our curls down. When this happens, you can use a scarf as a headwrap. Open the scarf, and tie it from the back of your head towards the front. You can experiment with knots or bows to finish the look, put all your hair inside, or leave some out. However you do it, it’s sure to be a great way to cover up your post-swim curls this summer, as well as protect your strands from harmful UV rays.
