Therefore, in order to give your curls an extra boost, you’re going to need to revive your strands with more moisture. Here’s how to give your curls max hydration. How To Give Your Curls Max Hydration
Step one:
Take 1/2 cup of your favorite deep conditioner, and mix it with 3 tablespoons of baking soda. Add in 1/8 cup of water. Section your curls, and apply the product throughout your strands. Apply and allow it to sit in your curls for 30 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
Step two:
Dilute more of the deep conditioner with water, and apply section by section, until your curls are completely covered. Cover with a plastic cap, and a silk scarf. You can allow it to sit overnight, or apply heat and keep the plastic cap on for 20 minutes.
Step three:
Take 1 cup of a Bentonite Clay, and mix it with 3 cups of warm water. Depending on the level of hydration you need, you can apply the clay straight to your dampened curls, or dilute and apply. Make sure your curls are completely wet.
Step four:
While curls are still saturated, apply your favorite curly hair custard throughout your strands. For curls that are extra defined, make the sections smaller and apply the product to smaller areas. This works best when applied in the shower, while curls are completely saturated. Don’t rinse away the product. Instead, use an old t-shirt to blot out any extra product. Style, and allow your curls to air dry. If needed, you can also use a diffuser on low heat to speed up the process. Enjoy your hydrated, and well defined strands.
