DIY Treatments For Your Dry Curls
Avocado:
Take 1 large, ripe avocado, and puree in your blender until smooth. Add in half a teaspoon of virgin olive oil. You can also add in 3-5 drops of essential oils, such as lavender or rosemary to invigorate your scalp. Mix until completely blended.
Apply to washed, detangled, and sectioned curls. Apply from roots to tips, working section by section. Make sure all strands are covered, and allow to sit for 10 minutes. Rinse away with cool water.
Egg yolks:
This treatment is especially great for people with very damaged curls need a little bit more structure to their strands. Take two egg yolks and blend until smooth. Add in 2 teaspoons of Jamaican Black castor oil and mix. Apply to hair, focusing on massaging it into the scalp and working through strands. Allow to sit for 15 minutes before shampooing out.
Olive oil:
Mix 2 tablespoons of virgin olive oil, 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and tablespoons of filtered water together until blended. Take the mixture and work into your hair, making sure to completely cover all strands. Allow the mixture to sit for at least 20-30 minutes before shampooing out. This mixture might need a couple of washes to get it all out completely. Once shampooed, follow up with a regular conditioner. Curls that are frizzy, dry, and in need of a pick me up will benefit from this treatment.
