Do you ever wish your curls could be just a little bit more than they are? If so, you’re not alone! While we think all curls are beautiful, we understand it can be frustrating when your hair doesn’t do what you want. In an effort to help curb any frustration, here are amazingly helpful hints for curly hair. We hope this helps you fall in love with your curls once again.
Dry cut:
When you sit in your stylist’s chair, request a dry cut. This allows your stylist to cut your hair and see the natural curl pattern without disrupting it. This will also allow your stylist to see exactly how much is being cut off.
Pineapple before sleep:
Before bed, take a few moments to toss your curls up into a pineapple. This loose hair style allows for curls to be protected while sleeping and minimizes curls getting crushed. Use a scrunchie to keep curls from getting an elastic crease or pulling. If wearing your hair up isn’t your thing, you can also opt for a silk or satin cap or pillowcase. This will protect your curls while you’re sleeping to minimize frizz.
Plop curls:
This styling techniques helps curls clump and retain their natural shape without crushing your strands. After applying product to wet curls, flip your hair over and place on a t-shirt or microfiber towel. Once curls have been plopped, wrap strands in the towel to allow excess water to be absorbed.
Skip chemicals:
It’s time for a clean out of your curl care products. If your products contain artificial ingredients or chemicals, it might be time to consider swapping them for more natural or organic products. Many of the products available on the market contain things like alcohol, fragrance, silicones, and parabens, all of which are harmful to your delicate strands. If you can’t find a chemical free product you like, you could consider creating your own.
